Thursday and what....

The next nurse for today called not more than a few minutes after the other one left, sweet!

She then called again this morning to moved the appointment up by and hour, makes it easier to plan stuff if you have a time set, even if it gets changed to something earlier.

The extra supplies they needed, showed up just after I left this morning, typical of my luck...

Still waiting for the paperwork from my doctor so I don't get fired from work but when I called there today there was a message that they won't be back till the next business day....

Gonna try til I think they should be back from lunch if they are on that and forgot to change the message. Just seems to be the way my luck runs..

It isn't working....

After talking to the homecare nurse today, I found out that they are supposed to call me the night before to make the necessary arrangements for the next days visit...

Somebody should tell the nurses that, second day in a row where I have to call them to get a callback for my appointment...

Anyway, seems to be progressing as expected so far, still no word on how long I'll be out of commission for...

I think I'm going to live...

Have great humpday!

And...

Yesterday was a bit of an adventure...

Got to the hospital about 10 minutes earlier than needed but that's fine, that is just me...

My daughter went with me incase I needed some kind of help.

About an hour and a half after I was to be there, they finally called me in to do what they were going to do.

The nurse was the only one in the room and when I removed my shirt, she pulled the simple dressing I had on, off, she noted how gross it looked. wtf?

I got on the gurney, on my stomach, and that is when the doctor and his intern came in.

The first words out of his mouth were to the effect, "That is nasty, really gross!" Again, wtf?

I was thinking "bedside manner"? Then I asked, "Beside manner?"

He responded with, "You really don't want to see what is coming out of that thing, it's really not good!" WTF?

The nurse tucked a towel in the top of my pants and draped a few more around where they were going to work.

He then had his intern freeze it with a needle in several places. The told me it would sting a little and the burn as the freezing was going in, it did not and I let them know, seems that was a mistake.

Next, he cut into it, can't see it so don't know what that looks like, and more descriptive language about the material that really started to ooze out...

He then started to squeeze all he could out of this thing. The easiest way to describe it is, lay on your stomach and have someone pour a pail of warm pudding on your back. Same effect but definitely nastier. He had to change the towels around it at least three times before he was done.

At one point, it felt like he had climbed up on my back wearing a pair of golf spikes.

The one final painful bit was when he cut a piece of the opening away so that it would not heal over too fast, he wants it to stay open for a while and heal from the inside.

They dressed it and I was ready to go, This took no more than about twenty minutes.

Now I am waiting for the homecare worker to call for what will be my daily appointment to have the wound cleaned out a re-dressed. He said it would be about two weeks for this thing to heal over. YAY!, I can sleep again...

Anyway, gotta get the paperwork together so that I can be away from work for the next couple of weeks without penalty.

They won't(employer)won't like that at all, but like I give a shit... I'll save that rant for another day.

Time to get ready for all of the crap I have to do today, have good one peeps!

Wild...

Sorry about the late post, my 160gb lost all of its partitions and that prompted the reinstall...

Yesterday...

System locked up on messenger opening.

Reboot 5 or 6 times, still won't boot to the OS.

Try to boot to the cd, would not boot to the Plexwriter, found this out after three tries and bios reset to boot to the Sony DVD reader/writer.

Now we move onto the repair options, yea, right, a few options including "fixmbr" "bootcfg" etc, all to no avail.

OK, lets try to reinstall on top of itself, can't create the directory?...

K, now try to install in a different directory, yea, right, can't create the directory, again.

Now lets try installing on the second drive, can't proceed, can't write to the first drive.

Reset the bios again to boot to the second drive second, Sony first.

Found I had enough room and ability to install on the root of the second drive, great now I can move some stuff from the first drive so I don't lose it.

Two of the partitions are no problem, the root of the drive was a little more annoying.

I would try to open a folder on the root, it would open, I could copy may one or two files and then it would vanish and could not write back to the drive...

After about 20 reboots, I got what I wanted from it and formatted the drive.

I thought I would install Vista but low and behold, the image was corrupt and could not be saved...

What the hell?

Anyway, got a copy from a friend and will reconfigure and maybe install tomorrow...

Sorry, bout the time but I guess you got it figured...

Hope y'all had good Graffiti Monday

Bullshit...

One of my colleagues is an East Indian, he was born in India but has been in Canada for quite a few years...

Working in a call center makes it very hard for him because of the assholes who call in are so frickin racist...

You'll hear them say, "I'm not racist but they are so hard to understand!"

Funny thing is that my colleague is so easy to understand, it ain't even close to funny..

Most of the people who do the most bitching seem to be those that think they have a right to what they want regardless of policy, procedure, or even morals...

The sad part is that the company I work for and the client of this company, both allow this kind of behavior...

They not only allow it, they seem to encourage it...

If a customer calls in and is his, they scream and rant and bitch for another person, they give it to them...

When some one calls in and gets to my buddy, they get right stupid and insult and degrade him, in some cases they hang up before being transferred to the rest of the team because they won't even provide him with their contact information...

When they do allow enough for a transfer, they turn into the nicest people you would ever like to speak too, fucking amazing...

The part that annoys me the most are my own team members...

If one of my customers harasses this gentleman, I dress them down on their conduct before going any farther, not many of the rest of the team do so though, and it absolutely amazes me...

They work with this person every day, he helps in a lot of charitable efforts, he helps in morale building in the company but no one in management(not unexpected with those asses, another story) even acknowledges that he is a Canadian and a human being and should not be treated the way he is...

He has the hardest job in the entire building as he has to deal with the fucking bigoted fucks that call in and the quiet bigots inside the building...

I didn't plan this rant but this man deserves a fuck of a lot of our gratitude and true friendship for what he is and does...

My two cents or more....

Poor animal...

My dog, a Pit Bull, is now about 13 years old and has a really bad case of arthritis..

I give him one aspirin in the morning and one at night and it seems to help a huge amount...

I put some peanut butter on a slice of bread, drop the pill in the middle and fold it in half, this way, he doesn't know that it is there...

Funny thing though, he could be in an absolute coma but when I touch, no, not open, just touch, the peanut butter jam, he is awake and waiting for the "treat"...

I don't think he is going to be around a whole lot longer but trying to make the last year or two easier for him...

FR... maybe...

That would be a format, reinstall...

Seems everything I do on this damn system takes twice as many steps to accomplish...

I decided to leave a reply to a post on "It Occurred To Me" last night and had to come back over to firefox to get it done...

I also have maxthon as another browser but for some reason, it did not like to try to log into the blog last night...

This morning I go to log into my account to post this and again, have to enter all of my info...

I hate having to go to my login spreadsheet (yea, I'm that old, the memory ain't what it used to be) to get the login information...

I must be losing it...

Anyway, gotta start planning for the reinstall, been over a year since the last one...

Sweet...

Looks like we are losing another member of my team...

This is the 8th or 9th in the last 6 months...

It seems a little off when the Client company can keep demanding more and more and the company I work for just keeps leting them kill the people on my team, not to mention the front line people...

Don't get me started on the incentives (non-incentives)

YAY, A DATE!!!!

Yea, that's right, I have a date for surgery....

Went to the doc's yesterday I said. He wanted me to go back to the emergency room and I said, "NP WAY, I'm not spending another 8 hours waiting for someone to come get this thing off my back, you are going make an appointment to do it yourself?"

He says yea but figures it is causing me enough trouble that I should be going to the hospital, emergency department.

I reiterated at least three times that I didn't care when he made my appointment, there was no way that I would be going back to that hospital to wait...

Anyway, that's it for now, I have some news about my oldest son but that can wait for tomorrows posting...

Getting close...

One more day of this infernal pain in my back and I get to see the damn doc...

I have some really late tomatoes, didn't start producing them til last week, hope I have a good number before they are finished...

I think I am also in desperate need of a real life. I go to work shortly after 7 in the morning, return between 6 and 6:30 in the evening, go to bed at about 10/10:30. Saturday, I get up, post to this blog if I haven't done it before going to bed Friday night/Saturday morning,, pack up my laundry and work shirts, head for the laundromat and then the dry cleaners. I come home and rest for a bit, that 2 to 4 mile walk tends to wear out this 49 year old guy, what with the arthritis and joint troubles. I then head for the grocery store and any other shopping I need to do. Sunday is reserved for relaxing and do a few things around the house.

Not much of a life if you ask me...

Maybe someday but my luck is not the kind I would wish on anyone else. I survive but I think they call it "subsisting"

Oh well, not much use in complaining, no one wants to hear it anyway...

Have a good Sunday to few who happen across this blog...

Praise....

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am the farthest thing from a religious person as can be...

One celebrity stated exactly what I thought, "Religion is for those weak of mind"

Of course, this statement will piss a lot of people off but if you think about what they say and do, this statement is the only one that can apply...

The Pope sits on enough cash to keep millions of people from starving, that would be accumulated from those that are attempting to buy their way into "heaven"...

My old man belongs to the Pentacostal Church and to be a member, a percentage of your income has to go to them, wtf?

And just how hard up can you be to have to go door to door to drum up a following like the Jehovahs?

Anyway, I am not knocking people for what they believe in, just what I see as foolishness, each to their own, what ever makes the world turn, add your own cliche here...

I found this sign to be a little odd, I know as a kid, not a chance in hell that I would want to be in a class setting in a church for any time in the summer..

Just my thoughts, take them for what they are... Mine...

TGIF!!!!!

A long weekend of sorts, the long awaited appointment with my surgeon on Monday... YAY!

I know, I know, it's only the preliminary inspection but it's something.....

Didn't talk to too many idiots yesterday but it sounded like a lot of my colleagues did...

One guy who had a unit for 1 full year as of yesterday, wanted a brand new unit, like that is going to happen....

Another guy that was 8 months into his warranty wanted us to ship him a brand new unit so he could take it to his local retailer for exchange for some other model and brand that he wanted...

Do these make any sense to anybody?

Anyway, have a great Friday!

I don't understand...

Ever pick up a call and before the first 5 minutes is up, you wish the hell you hadn't picked it up?

Got a guy that belonged to one of my team mates and he just would not shut the hell up....

45 minutes, is that not a bit insane?

The only thing I accomplished was to get an order number that I am now going to have to watch, when the broken unit starts it's trip back to the service center I have to put in a request...

I had that information to him in the first 10 minutes...

So now, I have a crap load of information that I really didn't need and have almost completely forgotten anyway...

Life in a call center, gotta love it or be mentally unbalanced...

I?...

Got my Pit Bull on two aspirin daily now two...

He and I both have some fairly bad arthritis...

I put a good sized gob of peanut butter on a piece of bread and fold the pill into the middle of it so he doesn't know it's there... I know he would he around it if he knew....

Anyway, he seems to be a lot better because of them at this point, not sure just how long he has, he is 13 now...

Not too bad a day...

Woke up to a text message from my son, sent a 4:00 am yesterday morning in response to the one I sent him on Thursday "wtf"...

It was "what wtf?"...

Just about an hour ago, I sent him another telling him he better be home in the next 24 hours...

Didn't ell him that I will have the cops looking for him if he doesn't but that will be the actual result...

Found an empty 40 oz of Captain Morgan's on his bedroom floor, what's that all about?...

got a bit of a burn on my face from being out so long today and for some reason, every joint in my body feels like my arthritis acting up when we are getting rain. No sign of rain but not sure what is going on...

Got my tickets for the 48 million dollar lottery today, have to wait to see how much I didn't win...

And now, for something completely different, I'm goin' to bed.

Entertainment value...

It's all about the entertainment value and damn if I wasn't entertained...

One lady called in and had to be transferred to me by another of the guys on my team as he did not work with the product that the lady had....

The first words out of her mouth were to the effect, "You will give me my money back for this product and a coupon for 10% off the accessories for the same product!"

First question I had was, "When did you purchase the product ma'am?"

She said, "I don't know, but I have 187 days left on my warranty and your going to give me a refund and the coupon!"

I said ,"No, I'm not!"

She said, "Yes you will, I have 187 days left on my warranty and I went and bought another one of the same model!"

I said, "No ma'am, but I would be happy to replace the unit for you!"

She said, "I don't want your replacement, I already bought another one!"

Once again I said, "No!"

She said, "I want a refund and a coupon and that is all I am going to say!" then promptly hangs up....

I laugh at the stupidity of this person and decide that it is time for me to have my lunch...

After discussing the whole thing with a couple of my colleagues, I decide to call the brainless wonder back, I always enjoy stirring up shit...

She answers on the third ring and I say, "I think we got cut off but would like to resolve your issue."

She says, "No, we did not get cut off, I hung up!"

I said, "Well, I would still like to help you with the issue..."

She interrupts and says, "I told you that I want my money back, I can get the unit fixed locally and I want my money back but I'm not going to argue!" and then promptly hangs up again...

Stupid broad doesn't seem to know how to read. The warranty states that the company will replace the unit with new or like new unit at the companies discretion and if unable to do so in a reasonable time, will refund the for the unit.

Reasonable for my team is next day or at most two day. If the company is not given the opportunity to replace the unit, they are never going to get their money back...

Guess it really, really sucks to be stupid....

Have a good weekend...

Don't know...

Can't figure out what to do with that 17 year old of mine...

Got home last night, found that he hadn't taken the mail in...

Next, I spotted that the front door was wide open...

Found the TV left on with the PS2 loud enough to make the neighbors complain...

Found that the sound on my computer was wound to full volume....

Found the toilet running a crap loaf of water away....

And it appears that a food fight may have occurred...

And last but not least, he didn't even make sure the dog had food and water and was taken out...

Do I kick him the fuck out or kill him?...

I think I'm going to kick him the fuck out of my house, you know about the straw and the camels back...

Expectations?....

Yea, I know it is August and people are entitled to time off for vacations etc....

We are down about a third of my team due to vacations, sickness and just "let me the fuck out of here"....

The only problem with it is that the volume has not decreased and those of us left on the lines have to take up the slack...

Imagine, we still have to keep all of the same stats up to par even though the workload has almost doubled this week....

I, personally, don't give a shit if we meet our stats anymore...

There are only so many hours in a day and what the hell can you do?....

The hell with them, I'll do what I can and if they decide it isn't enough, the hell with 'em....

Got a little better than a week to see my surgeon, really can't wait, maybe some time off that others have make up for....

Have a great day!

Yesterday...

Yesterday was cut a little short because the power blinked out in the night and for those of us that are using CPAP units, it is an absolute nightmare...

I was instantly awake but that wasn't the worst of it..

Waking is one thing, you can usually roll over and go back to sleep if the power has come back on but....

I had to get up to get the correct time, the clock was flashing red at me and my radio was flashing blue, damn, had to reset both things before sleeping again..

The pics are of flowers on my front porch and the rose with three blooms is in front of my house.

I have 7 different rose plants and that is the only one with blooms right now. Hopefully the food I put in around them will encourage more blooms...

Anyway, got to get my dressing changed so I gotta cut it off here...

Who needs a cell phone...

No one needs a cell phone but the gimmees are there...

My daughter bought me my first one about three weeks ago, I just upgraded in a fairly big way...

What is it about the Razr V3 that is so great?

I looked that one as well as the Nokia 6265 which really has no appeal regarding appearance...

I finally settled on the Samsung A950.

Sweet little phone, has a 1.3 Megapixel camera, plays MP3's, text capable, 1x data capable, connection to satellite radio and TV and a bonus ability to use the microSD cards..

Over all, I believe it to be better that the Razr in most ways... and cost me $349...

Oh well, it will last for longer than I'll need it, I hope...

And the stupidity continues...

Got hold of a lady yesterday who doesn't seem to be all there...

She purchased an entry level unit that has only a 90 day warranty, which I told her....

She got it in December of last year and that would put it more than the warranty period, out of warranty...

Looking at the notes in the cases, and yes, I did say cases, she just badgered her way to the top, me....

I told her the warranty for the unit as stated above. She asked why it only had a 90 day warranty and I told that it was because the unit is an entry level and not a more feature bound model.

She then asked what I meant. I told her that it was a more economical model for people to get a start with.

She said, "Because it was a cheap model?"

I told her, those were her words, not mine, we have to be correct in our verbiage to the customers...

I offered her the out of warranty options that would replace the unit for a cost or even upgrade for a little more but that we could negotiate a mutually agreeable amount...

She seemed alright with it when we concluded the call...

She called back into my queue not more than 30 minutes later, got one of my colleagues and demanded my boss, ass, so a call back was arranged for her by another one of my team...

I then notice that she has called the Corporate office...

The notes show that she was very rude and demanding. The corporate office also noted that she was provided more than adequate options and well beyond anything she had any right too and that they would not intervene. One other note was that she did not want any call back, just a refund of the next day service she paid for...

For those that don't know, when an order is placed and it is out of warranty, it will stay in a validation required status until the proof of purchase is supplied or thirty days has lapsed, which ever is shorter so she was not charged the ten bucks in the first place and I canceled the order when talking to her....

The 21st, I don't care if it is more than two weeks away, it is an actual appointment...

WOW, how did I survive?

Alright you whining yanks, we hit over 100 yesterday and it was a record breaker...

It is supposed to be pretty close to the same again today, good thing I'm off and can sit in front of the air conditioner for it today..

Yesterday, I went to work at my usual time. I wasn't even half way there when my back started leaking again. It was far too messy to stay at work where I was grossing out a lot of people so I came home to wait for the damn surgeon to call...

They finally did, said the description of what was going on with my back wasn't serious but if I got a fever, I should go immediately to emergency at the local hospital, like I'm going to subject myself to that abuse again....

Anyway, I'm in today trying to make arrangements for someone to come over and put a dressing on my back until I see the surgeon on the 21st..

Not impressed but what can ya do...

Well, the ol' lady called the surgeons office yesterday, claimed to have a full office and they would call her back today.... WTF?

This lump got to leaking so bad at work, grossed out at least a dozen people.... maybe that's the upside to this thing...

And the lunacy continues....

One gentleman, not really, called in and got to one of my colleagues, she asked for his phone number and he argued for almost 15 minutes that there was no way he was going to provide any information, not sure what his beef was till I got him...

He has a product I support and that much out of him was a surprise..

He says, "I have this product and I need some parts that were missing."

I asked, "How did you get to me, did someone transfer you?"

He said, "Someone gave me this number!"

I asked who gave him the number and his reply...

"Just give me the fucking parts for this product, do your fucking job!!", click!

OK, just how do I do that when I got no information about you and you hang up?
